Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you and your family to come out for a First Day Hike on January 1 with two hikes scheduled this year. Enjoy the first day of the New Year leisurely exploring the park with a Ranger to learn about the park and its wildlife.
First Day Hike Jan 1 2018 9am – 11:30am: 4 mile hike 2pm – 3:30pm: 1.5 mile hike
Participants attending at 9:00am will enjoy a longer four mile round trip hike. Those coming at 2:00pm will enjoy an easier mile and a half walk. Both trails are relatively flat with roots, rock and dirt. To enjoy the First Day Hike to the fullest, wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Bring water bottle, hat and sunscreen. Please check in at the Ranger Station for starting location.Program is free with regular park admission.
A Park Ranger will take you on a hike along the north side of the Turpentine Trail. Participants will learn about the park, its wildlife, and the turpentine industry that thrived here in the late 1800’s. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to tram stop 2. Pet friendly event.
The 9th annual 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL — set for January 12-15, 2018 — has announced that Ann Wilson ofHeart will join the HEADLINERS for the 2018 celebration of singers and songs.
HEADLINERS previously confirmed for main stage performances in presenting partner Grand Boulevard’s Town Center include esteemed artists Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, The Zombies, North Mississippi Allstarsand Lee Ann Womack. Also confirmed for premier nighttime performances are Charles Kelly of Lady Antebellum, Patty Griffin, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls with her solo Murmuration Nation band, Shawn Mullins and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame members Mike Reid and Craig Wiseman.
The 30A Songwriters Festival production team transforms amphitheaters, town halls, restaurants, theaters, bars and covered patios into unique music venues ranging in capacity from 75 to 500 seats indoors and 5,000 outdoors. Grayton Beer Company will host their 2nd Annual GRAYT Holiday Market on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from noon to 6PM. In addition to vendors, the event will include festive craft beers as well as the local brewery’s year-round styles, live music, an appearance by Santa and food for purchase. The 2nd Annual GRAYT Holiday Market will be held in tandem with the Taproom’s regularly scheduled Dog Days Are (R)over where patrons who bring in their dog receive 10% off their tab.
